Product Description of Clay Sand Reclamation Line
The Clay Sand Reclamation Line is a highly automated spent sand processing system designed to reclaim used green sand—high-temperature, lumpy, and contaminated—through crushing, screening, cooling, and thermal/mechanical reclamation. It produces clean, temperature-stable, high-performance reclaimed sand for efficient reuse. Widely used in automotive, engine, heavy machinery, valves, pumps, and machine tool foundries, this system is a key component in building green and intelligent foundry operations.

Compared to traditional disposal or inefficient reclamation methods, this line achieves over 90% sand reuse rate, significantly reducing raw sand and bentonite consumption, lowering waste disposal costs, improving sand consistency, and minimizing casting surface defects—helping enterprises achieve cost reduction, quality improvement, and environmental compliance.

With a modular design and capacity range of 5–60 tons/hour, the system can be flexibly configured based on customer production volume, plant layout, and process needs. It seamlessly integrates with shakeout systems, mullers, and molding lines to form a closed-loop automated sand handling system.
Process Flow
1. Spent Sand Reception & Conveying
Hot spent sand from the shakeout is conveyed via high-temperature resistant vibratory conveyor or bucket elevator to the first stage.
A buffer hopper ensures continuous and stable feeding.

2. Crushing & Primary Screening
Crushing: Large sand clumps are broken down by double-roll or jaw crusher.
Screening: Coarse impurities (cores, metal fines, clinkers) are removed by drum or inertial screen.

3. Fine Screening
Multi-deck vibrating screens grade sand particles, ensuring uniform size (≤3mm).
Oversize material is recirculated or discharged as waste.

4. Thermal Reclamation (Core Process)
Optional triple/four-drum thermal reclaimer uses indirect heating (gas/electric) to heat sand to 600–700°C, burning off residual organics (resin, carbon, moisture).
Reclaimed sand is clean and reactive, with burn-off loss (LOI) ≤0.5%.

5.  Cooling & Moisture Conditioning
Hot reclaimed sand is cooled to 40–50°C in a twin-disk or fluidized bed cooler.
An intelligent mist humidification system precisely controls moisture content (±0.2%).

6.  Storage & Conveying
Reclaimed sand is stored in an intermediate silo, then conveyed via belt, bucket elevator, or pneumatic system to the muller or molding station.
Ensures continuous feeding and stable production rhythm.
