Product Description of LQQ Series Fluidized Bed Cooler
The LQQ Series Fluidized Bed Cooler is a high-efficiency sand cooling system based on fluidization principles, designed for reclaimed sand systems in foundries. It rapidly and uniformly cools hot reclaimed sand (80–120°C) to below 50°C, while adjusting surface moisture and removing fines and dust—ensuring optimal sand flowability, compactability, and mold strength. Utilizing a perforated plate + clean air bubbling fluidization technology, the LQQ suspends sand particles in a "boiling" state, enabling efficient heat transfer and uniform cooling—a critical solution for high-pressure molding lines requiring stable sand temperature, consistent moisture, and low dust content.
The LQQ is widely used in furan, alkaline phenolic, and sodium silicate sand reclamation processes, with cooling capacities from 10 to 100 t/h. It integrates seamlessly with bucket elevators, mixers, dust collectors, and sand temperature monitors—forming a fully automated sand loop that improves casting surface quality and reduces defects like porosity and sand adhesion.
Working Principle
Hot Sand Feeding
Hot reclaimed sand enters the inlet buffer zone via elevator or pneumatic conveyor, then is evenly distributed onto the fluidized bed by a VFD-controlled vibrator or rotary valve—preventing localized buildup.
Fluidized Cooling & Heat Exchange
Clean cooling air from a centrifugal fan enters the plenum chamber and passes through a perforated air distribution plate, suspending sand particles in a fluidized "boiling" state at a bed height of 0.8–1.2 m. Intense contact between sand and air enables rapid heat removal—cooling sand from 100°C to 45–50°C with >90% efficiency.
Moisture Adjustment & Dust Removal
An optional fine mist humidification system can inject atomized water into the airflow, adjusting surface moisture to 0.2–0.5% for improved compactability. Simultaneously, rising air carries fines and dust to the top-mounted dust collector (pulse-jet bag filter), with emissions <10 mg/m³—eco-compliant.
Cooled Sand Discharge
Cooled sand discharges continuously via a tilted outlet or overflow weir to downstream silos or mixers. Output is precisely controlled by adjusting airflow or outlet height.
Smart Monitoring & Protection
Equipped with sand temperature sensors, air pressure monitors, level switches, and vibration detectors, the PLC system provides real-time monitoring, fault warnings, automatic interlocks, and remote diagnostics.
