Product Description of L32 Series Sand Reclamation Drum (Tumbling Shakeout)
The L32 Series Sand Reclamation Drum is a high-efficiency non-vibrating shakeout machine designed for complex-shaped, thick-walled castings and high-bond-strength molds (e.g., resin sand, sodium silicate sand). Utilizing a rotating drum + internal breaker lugs + continuous conveying system, the L32 achieves gradual mold breakdown through free tumbling and casting-to-casting impact—ideal for large, irregular, or fragile castings that are difficult to clean via vibratory methods.
Constructed from a cylindrical drum rolled from Q345B high-strength steel, externally reinforced with wear-resistant rings and rubber damping layers, and supported by four sets of idler rollers for smooth operation. Internally, replaceable high-wear-resistant breaker lugs are evenly arranged to enhance lump crushing. Spent sand exits through perforated drum walls into a belt conveyor or bucket elevator, while castings discharge continuously at the outlet for cooling or cleaning. The L32 is widely used in shakeout for valves, pumps, marine castings, heat-resistant alloy parts, and other complex or vibration-sensitive components.
Working Principle
Casting Feeding
Castings with sand are fed into the drum inlet via apron conveyor, forklift, or robot arm, smoothly entering the drum through a feeding chute.

Rotational Tumbling & Mold Breakup
The drum rotates at 6–12 rpm, lifting castings which then fall freely, creating tumbling, sliding, and mutual impacts that gradually strip away mold sand. Internal breaker lugs further strike sand lumps, accelerating de-agglomeration.

Sand-Casting Separation & Discharge
Crushed sand passes through perforations (Φ20–40 mm) in the drum wall into a bottom conveyor; unbroken lumps move with castings to the discharge end as oversize material for further processing or manual cleaning.
